Your Rights Under CCPA

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information. AutoSpecs Daily is committed to respecting and facilitating these rights.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Under CCPA, "sale" is broadly defined and may include sharing personal information with third parties for advertising purposes. We share certain information with advertising partners and affiliate networks that may constitute a "sale" under CCPA.

You have the right to opt-out of the "sale" of your personal information.

1. Right to Know

You have the right to request that we disclose the following information about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months:

  • The categories of personal information we have collected about you
  • The categories of sources from which we collected your personal information
  • The business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling your personal information
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share your personal information
  • The specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
  • Whether we have sold or disclosed your personal information for a business purpose
  • If we sold or disclosed your personal information, the categories of personal information sold or disclosed and the categories of third parties to whom it was sold or disclosed

2. Right to Delete

You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will delete your personal information from our records, unless an exception applies.

We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service providers to:

  • Complete the transaction for which we collected the personal information
  • Detect security incidents and protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity
  • Debug products to identify and repair errors
  • Exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise their free speech rights, or exercise another right provided for by law
  • Comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act
  • Engage in public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical, or statistical research
  • Enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with consumer expectations
  • Comply with a legal obligation
  • Make other internal and lawful uses of that information that are compatible with the context in which you provided it

3. Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing

Under CCPA, "sale" is broadly defined and may include sharing personal information with third parties for advertising purposes. While we do not "sell" personal information in the traditional sense, we do share certain information with advertising partners and affiliate networks that may constitute a "sale" under CCPA.

We share personal information with the following categories of third parties for advertising and other purposes that may constitute a "sale" under CCPA:

  • Google AdSense and other advertising networks
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) for advertising and retargeting
  • Programmatic advertising platforms
  • Affiliate marketing partners (Amazon Associates, CarVertical, etc.)
  • Analytics providers (Google Analytics 4)

You have the right to opt-out of the "sale" of your personal information. To exercise this right, you may:

  • Submit a request through our Privacy Request Form
  • Use our cookie consent tool to manage your preferences

  • Use the "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" link in our footer

4. Right to Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. Unless permitted by CCPA, we will not:

  • Deny you goods or services
  • Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties
  • Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services
  • Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services

However, certain features may require personal information to function (e.g., personalized content, newsletter delivery). If you opt-out of certain data collection, those features may not be available.

5. Categories of Personal Information We Collect

In the past 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers: Name, email address, IP address, online identifier, device identifiers, cookie identifiers, unique personal identifiers
  • Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity: Browsing history, search history, interaction with our website, pages visited, time spent on pages, click patterns, referral sources
  • Geolocation Data: General location information based on IP address (city/region level, not precise location)
  • Commercial Information: Records of products or services viewed or considered, interaction with affiliate links, purchase history (if applicable)
  • Inferences: Preferences, characteristics, behaviors, interests drawn from the above information to create a profile about you
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, browser type and version, screen resolution, device identifiers
  • Professional or Employment-Related Information: (If provided) Job title, company name

Sources of Personal Information:

  • Directly from you (newsletter subscriptions, contact forms, account creation)
  • Automatically from your device (cookies, tracking technologies, server logs)
  • Third-party services (analytics providers, advertising networks, affiliate partners)

6. How We Use and Share Personal Information

We use and share personal information for the following business purposes:

  • Providing our services and website functionality

  • Analyzing website usage and improving our services
  • Sending newsletters and marketing communications (with consent)

Sale/Sharing for Advertising: We share personal information with advertising partners and affiliate networks for advertising purposes, which may constitute a "sale" under CCPA. You can opt-out using the methods described above.

7. How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise your CCPA rights, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by:

Verification Process: To protect your privacy, we will need to verify your identity before processing your request. We may ask you to provide:

  • Your name and email address (must match our records)
  • Additional information to verify your identity
  • Proof of California residency (for certain requests)

Response Time: We will respond to your request within 45 days. If we need more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period (up to an additional 45 days).

8. Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to make a CCPA request on your behalf. To do so, you must provide the authorized agent written permission to do so, and we may require you to verify your identity directly with us or confirm that you provided the authorized agent permission to submit the request.

If you are an authorized agent making a request on behalf of a California resident, please provide:

  • Written authorization from the California resident
  • Your own contact information
  • Proof of your identity
  • Proof of the California resident's identity

9. Minors' Rights

If you are a California resident under the age of 16, we will not sell your personal information unless you (or your parent/guardian if you are under 13) have opted in to such sales. If you are between 13 and 16 years old, you may opt-in to the sale of your personal information. If you are under 13, your parent or guardian must opt-in on your behalf.
